... and the format doesn't make much sense anymore without the exporter.

Actually, I'm of two minds about this. So what I've done is keep the
format and the converter,
but remove it from the export menu. That way, if someone really did want
to do this, and I can
imagine reasons to want to do it, it would be possible. But now we don't
overcrowd the
already too crowded menu.
