+We are pleased to announce the release of LyX 2.0.8.1. This release
+differs from the 2.0.8 release only by incorporating some improvements
+to the lyx2lyx conversion and reversion scripts. There are no changes
+to the main code.
+
+LyX 2.0.8 was the eighth and final maintenance release in the 2.0.x
+series, the result of on-going efforts to make our stable version even
+more reliable and stable. We fixed a number of bugs and made a number
+of improvements since 2.0.7.
You should make it clear that 2.0.8 was never widely circulated because
some bugs were found at the last minute. Ohterwise, it is not clear why
you make a reference to a release that nobody ever saw, and also why it
has such a strange numbering.

I thought about that, but the release seems to have been packaged by
Fedora, at least, and people
downloaded Uwe's binary from Sourceforge, as well. I can make it clear
in the announcement
when I do the release, though.

Nope, Fedora never saw 2.0.8, it went from 2.0.7 to 2.1.0.

It's present several weeks as unstable under gentoo. IMHO What should be said
in annoucement in the very beginning though is that main purpose of this release
is ability to read 2.1 files.
