I've updated the wiki so that it is possible now to link to files in the
git repo.

Thanks, Vincent. Could this be a solution to our Wiki upload problem?
For example, we could create a new repo "wiki" and post files there
that people would like to link to in the Wiki. The "Upload" link,
which is now currently broken, could say something like "send an email
to lyx-***@lists.lyx.org with the file and a description of the file
you would like to upload and then one of us could commit to the repo".
It sounds a little complicated, but would be an improvement on the
current situation.

Except that all this is already done with via
svn://svn.lyx.org/lyx/www-user/trunk/images/svnwiki
together with proper shortcut to be used in wiki.

If you don't have svn write access, just ask JMarc.

OK. What directions should we have under the "upload" link in the
wiki? Currently it is blank.

I do not know how to edit the "upload" page. I tried

without success.

Also in the directions we should probably ask them to send a GPL
statement regarding the file or is that not necessary?

Yes, only our admin gurus can do that.

Hm.. I'm pretty sure they could find much bigger stones to throw at
me. I'll wait a bit and then increase my annoyance level.
