That sounds like #9049, which was fixed for 2.1.2. I suggest you upgrade.

Which version of Fedora are you using? It is in stable on 21 and in
testing on 20. If you're on 20, then you can do:
yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update lyx
and not have to wait.
